Rare American Coins Database Updated for Sep 2010

Over the last few years, some incredible prices have been paid for rare American coins. Numismatic scarcities commanding over a million dollars, once unheard of, are now becoming a semi-regular occurrence.

While monitoring market trends for the purpose of updating our Coin Value Tables, we also record into a database the sales prices for these extremely rare coins. You can access the database by Face Value, Selling Price, or Month Sold, or by clicking the "Link to Rare American Coins Database" option located in the upper right hand corner of this page.

This link is a gateway to help you navigate quickly to more narrowly defined areas of interest. There's only one master database, but we've pre-sorted it several different ways for your convenience. If, for example, you're wanting to know more about rare Half Dimes, you should use the "Half Cents to Quarters" link under the "Sorted by Face Value" category, which is where the Half Dimes are cataloged.  If you want to search for coins by price, then use the "Sorted by Selling Price" category.  If you're curious about when something was sold, click the "Sorted by Month Sold" category.

We started regularly recording the pricing information for these rare coin wonders in Oct 2002. Most of the values are prices realized at highly publicized coin auctions. We continue to review sales activity on a regular basis and add new information about once a month. You will be automatically notified when updates are available by subscribing to our RSS feed.
